Hi my name is Joey, and I have that name because I look like a kangaroo. I lost my two front legs to those terrible gin traps. I had been struggling in the mountains for a long time before I was finally rescued by Mary and her team. I’m very funny because I will walk on my two back legs. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I have been through so much pain in my life, I’m still very protective of myself and quite afraid of people. Mary and the team are helping me realize that not all people are bad and that I can learn to trust again. I’m so very lucky that I can now have a safe place to lay my head and never have to worry about those horrible traps again. I can’t believe people can be so cruel to put them out in the mountains. So many dogs suffer from them. I’m doing well and I’m very healthy. Hopefully, one day I can trust enough and someone might look past my disability and give me a home to call my own.
